A Praise Mindset
It’s been a whirlwind of activity lately in our family’s lives. Sometimes, it seems, that I no sooner lay my head down on the pillow when the next thing is sunlight pouring through the slats in the window blinds. From sunrise to sunset, there is lots of life being lived.
I don’t know about you, but it often feels like I can’t catch my breath. Good things are happening, but an occasional “bump in the road” happens. My heart can be in a good place and then a sudden shift in my attitude can find me spiraling out of control in my mind with toxic thinking.
Lately, though, I’ve been working my way through the book of Philippians preparing for an upcoming ladies Bible study in @JennieAllen “Get Out of Your Head; a study in Philippians” and so maybe I’m more aware of how my thoughts are affecting my world.
Praising God does something incredible to my mindset and my heart. Remembering to give praise to Him as He “works things out for my good” has become a habit. It lifts my spirit, renews my strength, and refreshes my overloaded mind.
Have you been praising God or grumbling and complaining? I challenge you to have the “mind of Christ” today. What can you praise God for as you walk through your day? Remember, sometimes when difficulties arise there is purpose in that…so look for the lesson God is teaching you.
“When morning gilds the skies,
My heart awaking cries:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and prayer,
To Jesus I repair;
May Jesus Christ be praised!”
