Grace-Filled

I have a wonderful friend named Barb. She is the epitome of a grace-filled woman. There was a time when I was letting my emotions get the best of me in a situation. Calmly and lovingly, she sat me down and began a conversation, “Now listen…”

At that moment, I understood what Paul was saying to the church at Ephesus that by “truthing in love” (literal translation), a church will grow in maturity. When we lovingly speak the truth, we edify, build up, and benefit each other.

I’ve met my share of people who claim “love”, but find it’s empty sentiment. How do I know this? Their actions do not support their declaration of love. There is no truth in words or actions. Hypocrisy is the result.

My prayer is that we become a people who speak the truth in love, but also be a people who accept when others speak the truth in love to us.

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Ephesians 4:15
